Ford Mustang
First generation
Ford restyled the Mustang repeatedly inside its first generation, so a 1965 coupe and a 1970 fastback share a name and very little sheetmetal. The fastback and convertible body styles carry the strongest following, and reproduction panels are widely available — which makes rust repair realistic but also makes it easy to hide poor work.

Production 1965–1970
Ford restyled the Mustang repeatedly inside its first generation, so a 1965 coupe and a 1970 fastback share a name and very little sheetmetal. The fastback and convertible body styles carry the strongest following, and reproduction panels are widely available — which makes rust repair realistic but also makes it easy to hide poor work.
Sheetmetal, trim and engine availability changed at nearly every model year. Treat every part as year-specific until proven otherwise.
